Quarterfinals set at Motor City Cup

The higher quality of teams are placed in Pool B of the Motor City Cup, and after round robin play has been completed the quarterfinals and consolation games have been set. 5 HPHL teams make up the quarterfinals, one TIEHL team, and two independent teams. One of the independent teams is the Michigan high school all star teams from the MDHL and the independent Dallas Ice Jets team from Texas who qualified after beating Lansing Capitals 2-0. Both the independent teams grabbed the two second place wildcard spots for the quarterfinals, they beat out second place teams Belle Tire, Phoenix Firebirds, Oakland Jr. Grizzlies and Pittsburgh Viper Stars.
